I was at the WNYRacing/CNYMRA Top Gun Shootout last Sunday and witnessed an example of good sportsmanship by Paul Plewa #771! Here's what happened; Harrison Kay #222, collided with another rider on the face of the double before the big tabletop. He fell of his bike in mid air, and Paul #771 had no where to go. When Harrison fell, Paul was already in the air right behind him. Paul landed and ended up hitting Harrison's back. Paul also fell along with Harrison. After he got up, he ran up to Harrison #222, helped him up and off to the side. Paul stayed to make sure Harrison was ok and would not leave until enough help had arrived. Paul, now in dead last, got on his bike and made it all the way up to third place!
It's refreshing to see a dedicated young rider more concerned with the safety of those around him than whether he would win a trophy. It's even more impressive that he managed to do both! I know his dad was very proud of him as his trophy was well earned!
