Thomas Covington Signs with Team Green and Pro Circuit

Thomas Covington put another feather in his cap this week by putting on a strong performance in the 65cc 7 to 9 year-old class and finishing the week with a 3rd place overall finish at the Air Nautique Loretta Lynn AMA National Championships in Tennessee. Thomas was particularly impressive with two second place moto finishes in motos 2 and 3 and was ahead of third place by a huge gap. "The first moto, my bike had some issues and I had a hard time getting going, said a delighted Thomas Covington. "My 5th place in moto 1 really cost me the second spot on the podium, but I was real proud of my next motos. Adam just got great starts and ran well out front and I congratulate him on another championship". There will be plenty of other races with Adam and I can`t wait til the next time" added Thomas.

This podium at the 2006 Loretta Lynns gives Thomas his 8th podium finish at amatuer national events since he started his career. The 2003 Loretta Lynn`s 50cc champion is having his best season since 2003 with podium finishes at two nationals and many local and regional event wins.

Thomas Covington is one of a few riders to be featured on the new Foxracing.com website. While at Lorretta Lynn`s this year, Thomas was shadowed by a camera crew and video camera in support of marketing projects for Fox Racing, Inc. Thomas has been wearing Fox apparal proudly since 2002 when he first appeared on the Loretta Lynn scene.

"It was a fun thing for Fox to do this - I thought it was cool haveing them around alot - except when I did bad in the mod class a few times", says a smiling Thomas C. "They were real cool people to hang with".

Strong Finishes in Texas to Start the 2006 season off right. Thomas won two motos and finished with a 2nd place overall at Whitney and a 4th overall at Oak Hill in the 65cc Stock class. Thomas won the 1st moto in the stock class at Oak Hill, but it only counted for the gate pick. He fininshed up just off the podium with a 4th place finish in the second moto. At Whitney, he impressed the crowd in the final moto with a win - even though his seat came off in the 1st lap. Thomas grabbed the hole-shot and never looked back.

While a championship fell right out of his grasp, he was pleased with a strong start to the nationals in 2006.
