Overview

 

How I got started

Jake began riding a pw 50 at age 4. Started racing at six at local level. Placed 2nd in the state of Colorado in 1st year of racing on 50 cc. Jake went to Whitney and placed 9th overall, 10th overall at World Mini`s, 2nd overall at Mesquite at AAR National. Jake in his 2nd year of Nationals placed in the top 10 at all events had 5 top 5 finishs and two podiums. Jake rode for Team Cobra for Sean Hilbert and Bud Memoine in the 2005 racing season. He was picked up by Cernics Racing in the fall of 2005. Jake was 1 of 2 9 year olds that road the 85 class at Loretta Lynn`s in 2006.

Goals for the Future

To place consisently in the top 5 in the 85CC classses at the nationals. Go to Loretta Lynn`s and place in the top 5. I will have 2007 and 2008 to ride my 85 in the 7-11 classes and I hope to nail down some championships.

Some Personal Information About Me:

I am in the 5th grade and love to race motorcross. I like to go hunting and fishing with my family. I enjoy practicing and training 4 evenings a week with my dad and trainer Howie Short (Andrew Short`s father)

What do you want to be when you grow up?

I want to be just like our hometown boy Andrew Short and turn pro.

Competitive Highlights

5 Top five finishes @ the nationals, 10 top ten finishs at the nationals, 2 podium finishs in 2005 Jake has one the 1st 2 rounds of The Pro Circuit Series in Texas this year. He qualified in 65cc 7-9, 7-11, 85 7-11, and 85 7-11 mod for Loretta Lynn`s this year.
